FOOTBALL fans will be able to pay their bus fares in foreign currency for the first time today as drivers accept euros.

Passengers travelling to and from the city centre and Celtic Park on First Glasgow services for tonight's Scotland's Euro 2016 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland will be able to buy single and return tickets with euros.

Euros will be accepted on First Glasgow services 2, 60, 60A, 61, 255 and 240, which will run to and from Argyle Street, Trongate and Celtic Park.

Single tickets will cost £1.95, while a FirstDay ticket -which offers unlimited all-day travel - is £4.10. Drivers will also accept €3 for a single journey or €6 for a return.

Fiona Kerr, managing director of First Glasgow, said: "With thousands of supporters expected to make the journey to Celtic Park, our bus services will be the smoothest way to travel from the city centre and back.

"By accepting euros as well as sterling, we hope to make the journey to and from Celtic Park as easy as possible for home and away fans."

The match starts at 7.45pm.
